The Capturing Childhood Workshop was designed for women who want to capture the fleeting, everyday moments of the children in their lives – and do so with vision and confidence.
This will be a comprehensive beginner-to-intermediate workshop; the goal will be not only to get you as excited about your camera as you were the day you first got it but, also, to give you as much information as needed for you to be able to reproduce everything you have learned on your own! You will gain the technical and compositional knowledge, coupled with the support and encouragement necessary to develop your craft well into the future.
If you like Icarian Photography's style and technique, Melissa intends to show you everything you need to know to do it yourself. She will help answer any questions that you may have regarding unlocking the potential of your camera. In sharing your experience, as well as with the extensive workshop curriculum and Facebook group forum, we will learn from one another, and it will raise the level of knowledge-base for the entire group.
About the Instructor
Melissa Schmidt is a family gal and documentary family photographer at East Bay-based Icarian Photography, and she is insanely passionate (geek level) about photography.
After many years of shooting for friends and family, Melissa eventually founded her photography business in January of 2015. Since that time, she has been asked by several aspiring photographers countless questions about how to take a photograph that actually satiates the vision they have in their mind's eye. For that reason, Melissa designed the Capturing Childhood Workshop.
